Must Kill hail from the suburbs of Milton Keynes, England, and one look at their name pretty much tells you what you need to know about their style. Their debut EP, Ghost Malevolent, is a brief blast of modernized Death/Thrash with a strong sense of melody that recalls Swedish Death Metal from the '90s. Tight playing, catchy riffs, and a fair amount of dynamic tempo changes make them a cut above a lot of bands in the style, and the aggressive, sometimes semi-growled vocals are just the cherry on top. Overall, this won't change your life, but it shows a band that already has their shit together and could easily make some killer fucking music if they can keep their momentum going from here. An EP that's as promising as it is entertaining. |
