Chapter One is a collection of upbeat heavy/power metal anthems from Norway's Secret Chapter that are very much in line with the music of countrymen TNT (the dead-on cover of "Everyone's a Star" on the digipak version should erase any doubt). The sound is crystal clear, providing the perfect platform for the high-pitched vocals and accessible melodies to fill your ears with their infectious hooks. Tracks like "Baptized in Ecstasy" and "Sin City" seem well suited to the live setting as they feature driving tempos and sing-along choruses. Every song goes down easy, making Chapter One an album that should work like a charm on a long drive. It is on the lighter end of the metal spectrum, aimed at fans of TNT, Fifth Angel, Pretty Maids, etc. who will likely enjoy it the most. |
