I went to this band's show a few months ago without having heard them before and was quite impressed with the performance, so I hit the merch table. On The Poisoner, Sanhedrin grace us with some crunchy and raw heavy metal, not really what one would call old school but the influences are there. The guitars remind me a little bit of Cauchemar (who were opening that night), a very cool style that just begs for you to dust off that air guitar and start rocking along. Vocalist Erica Stoltz sports a powerful, rough-ish voice that really fits well with the music. Throw in the occasional doomy vibe and some pretty damn cool solo, and The Poisoner is a winner that just begs for repeat plays. |
