Unholy chaotic hell, Batman! Abysmal Lord sure aren't going for refined with this album. I've heard a couple of their previous releases and they still catch me off guard. Demonic vocals accompany the listener through this raw, basic and hellish aural mayhem and it's those vocals that are the highlights here, sort of gluing the whole thing together because this is a beautiful mess of destructive black metal and it's all over the place. Up there with these insane Filipinos in Deiphago (who still do this better, mind you), the band has produced a barrage of noise that's so fucked up, it's addictive. Definitely not for everyone, so if you're looking for tight playing, melodies and other fancy stuff, this is not it. |
