A nice little surprise from Belarus here. Verwüstung play some raw, straightforward, fast and heavy blackened thrash. Gospel ov Fury is one of those albums that hits hard from beginning to end. Everything here sounds heavy but the production could be better as it sometimes feels kind of off. The drum sound can get annoying at times and it's only the power behind the sticks that make this forgivable. Nitpicking aside, Gospel ov Fury is quite fun, complementing the thrashing madness with a lot of catchy bits here and there, mostly borrowing from traditional heavy metal and making for an interesting mix. It's nothing great or out of the ordinary, but it's fun while it's on and one won't say no to repeated listens either. |
