Now that is some tasty, evil-sounding black metal. I had come across Valdur before but didn't pay much attention – my loss. The band plays it mostly raw but clean with some really sharp guitar work that'll slice your throat if you get too close. What I found they do best is marrying the rawness with a lot of haunting, dark melodies that send shivers down the spine and make you want to turn up the heat because of the overwhelming cold atmosphere. Throw in some demented, out of this world vocals and we've got a winner here. |
