If you want to talk about a band carried by its vocalist, this is one of them. It’s impossible to ignore the vocals on this album, with him just screaming the fuck out of that mic. I must say that it was a bit of a turn-off on the first one or two listens, but once I really got into the album, I could really hear how the vocals gel with the musical energy of the album and I just wanted to "scream along." Sepulcher play some really fast death/thrash with a bit of a melodic vibe, but the emphasis is really on speed and you’ll really hurt your neck if you try to headbang through the whole thing. This is no-frills stuff, just straightforward, honest and in-your-face thrashing death. If you’re looking for something speedy, this is a safe bet. |
