How's that for an album title? Man... Anyway, this is not a new studio album from the infamous Finnish black metallers but rather a compilation of 16 tracks from various splits the band has released over the years. With such releases usually being produced in very limited quantities, this is a good way to get your hands on those tracks. As one can expect, this is not as "coherent" as a studio album would be, so the album often sounds pretty disjointed and the tracks vary in quality, be it the playing, songwriting or, especially, the sound. But that's not what a compilation is about anyway. Satanic Warmaster play it raw and lo-fi, and this is 75 minutes filled with just that. Mostly a release for fans who missed out on the splits, but also a way to taste Satanic Warmaster over the years, all in one sitting. |
