Atomwinter's war theme continues strongly yet uncompromisingly on this second album. Crushing, crispy, heavy, old school and punishing Death Metal this definitely is, quite often reminding me of the early demo days of Demigod and Necropsy, and even Bolt Thrower. Atomwinter have clearly stuck to some of the past glories of Death Metal's first coming, and it's no crime at all. I mean, they sound darn good, offering a real throwback down memory lane. It's hard to find anything to criticize because their merciless war machine seems to be working so well and smoothly, simply rollin' over all of us and making us bite the dust. And that's how it's meant to be: old school Death Metal is supposed to sound like old school Death Metal in the first place, right? |
