Top 3 Cannibal Corpse albums for me would be:

Vile
Tomb of the Mutilated
The Wretched Spawn

I really like Vile because I used to watch my DVD copy of the Monolith of Death tour a ton, which was filmed right after Vile came out.

Very nice!  I feel I need to revisit Vile because it is probably the album I've listened to the least due to having trouble connecting to its songs. But it's been a while and I likely will enjoy it more now.

A pretty tough call to nail down my top 3 C.C. albums, but I think I will go with these...

1. The Bleeding
2. Vile
3. Kill

Looking forward to hearing their new album too (which I pre-ordered a while ago already).

With Vile and Tomb of the Mutilated following close behind.

The fans of bands like Insomnium and Wintersun specifically, I highly recommend to check this new band out from Finland, named EPHEMERALD.

Thormenthor were a unique sounding death metal band who had a bunch of demos and an EP as well as two splits before finally releasing a full album in 1994, which was outstanding.  Progressive death metal is the name of the game, and although it gets a little bit repetitive, this band has a refreshing sound in my opinion.  Really worth checking out.

I’m not the biggest Death Metal fan but have been enjoying Death Revenge, the latest from Exhumed recently.

Haemophagus are an excellent lesser-known deathgrind band who worships early Carcass just as much as Exhumed and Impaled.  Haemophagus's new album, Stream of Shadows, came out earlier this year and in my opinion is a real banger!  If you liked Exhumed's new album, definitely go check this one out.  Not too different, but with a more Altar's of Madness-era David Vincent vocal approach, and with some more experimental guitar work.

I just have no idea, sorry man. Many other people have asked the same from them as far as I know.

Here's another strong 2017 Death Metal suggestion:

Norway's Execration released earlier this year the album called Return to the Void, which has my favorite cover art of all records released this year that I've seen so far.  To speak of the band's sound, you can expect extremely balanced mixing in which the bass plays a strong part and brings a punky atmosphere to the record, the drums vary from being very light in the mix sometimes with simple beats to full on blasts, all the while never covering the unique melodies from the guitars.
This is Death Metal in the progressive realm, and it is also a grower of an album, as I enjoy it more each time I listen to it.  For me, a solid 4/5 for now.
