You know, I knew that.  Don't know why I blanked on it
Was it because their first two albums had cover art so bad that you blocked them out from your memory?

I'm not here to judge, like me who wrote Trash metal instead of Thrash Metal

There was a band in the 80s called Trash. I remember buying their cassette because the logo looked a little like Savatage's on Power of the Night. Unfortunately, they WERE trash Metal. They sucked, what a waste of money.

I see Luxi has the review here, but Arion's Last of us is a very solid Power/Symphonic Metal album.

Joe Thrasher's metal forces album is great too. Check out the song "Marching"

Dunkell Reiter- Death and Pain

I've been listening to this album by Brazilian Thrash metal band Dunkell Reiter today and they really grew on me quickly.  Highly recommend this band.  Check out tracks like "Nuclear Desaster", "Thrash Metal Maniacs," and "Chainsaw... Return to Slaughter."  Pure old school aggressive and oftentimes rapidly brutal thrash metal.  Pure fun.

Fastkill:  a thrash band from Japan. As the name suggests, they tend to play quite fast thrash metal. I'm not in love with the vocals, which are mostly high shrieks to my ears, but the band as a whole is very solid. Overall, I love this stuff!

Scum.  They were a Finnish Death Metal band from the 90's, and their second album, Purple Dreams and Magic Poems (translation issues, maybe?), is one of the more inventive and atmospheric albums you will find in the genre.

I will second this.  Scum are fantastic.  I randomly heard them on YouTube about 6 months ago or so, and was blown away by the atmosphere and general songwriting.  Well executed!

I have one more band recommendation to add:  Just found this band a couple days ago.  I would never admit to my professional network that I have gotten into a band called Infant Death, but that's their name.  Blackened thrash, definitely more on the thrashy side, the way I personally love it, and their execution is incredible.  Infant Death are from Norway, and I cannot believe how solid they are!
