Serenity - Codex Atlanticus

I've really come to love this record.

I liked that one a lot, too, but people just seemed to ignore it.

Orden Ogan - Gunmen

Classic Orden Ogan album. Not as definitive as Ravenhead, more reflective and sombre.

Walpyrgus - Walpyrgus Night

Classic old school Metal  :headbang:

Witherfall - Nocturnes and Requiems

Excellent Progressive Metal, much better than I was expecting

Checking it out again now, discarded it pretty quickly when it came out. Not because it was bad but probably because I was stuck with some other band at the time. This is very entertaining. Classic Serenity.

I liked Walpyrgus, but it still hasn't blown me away or anything like that. I'm working on a review for it

Witherfall is the best prog/power of the year, by a mile! Awesome indeed!

It got buried at the time. I enjoyed it more than anything since Fallen Sanctuary.

Edguy - Monuments

Typical best of with some odd choices and five new tracks. New songs are promising. "Landmarks" is the best double kicker Tobi has written since Theater Of Salvation.

The Crown - Deathrace King

Fuck this is so sick. Haven't listened to this one in some years and it just blows me away how awesome it is.

Burning Shadows - Truth in Legend........If I were still writing reviews for the Crypt I'd give this a four and a half to five star rating, thundering, epic heavy metal from of all places Maryland :super:

Their last one was really good.

Cirith Ungol - Frost And Fire

Had this for years and always hated it, so I gave it another go. Pretty decent old school US metal. Unlike most people, I actually dig Tim Baker's vocals.

I also liked that Serenity album better than anything since Fallen Sanctuary. The latest Burning Shadows is on my to listen list, and PowerMetal59 may have just prompted me to give it a bash today. Also, totally love Tim Baker's vocals, Bruce! His performance was a high point from the Keep It True festival.

OT:

Arduini/Balich - Dawn Of Ages

Frost and Fire is probably not Cirith Ungol's best, but easily a 4/5 for me.

OT: Skeletonwitch - Serpents Unleashed

A lot of fun.
