In my car:

Gamma Ray - Blast From The Past
Blind Guardian - A Night At The Opera (listen to And Then There Was Silence at least 100x)
Queesryche - Operation Mindcrime (same there for Suite Sister Mary)
Iron Maiden - Caught Somewhere In Time
Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast
Deicide - The Stench Of Redemption

I myself am a huge fan of Queesryche  :lol
Truthfully, I believe I still have a notebook from high school where I made that very same mistake.

I had the same problem with Arch/Matheos. I hated at first but with many repeated listens i came to love Sympathetic Resonance.

OT: Sleepy Hollow - Skull 13
Hyborian Steel - Blood, Steel and Glory
Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth

I didn't have a problem with Arch/Matheos, because I knew it was brilliance on first listen. I do envy Bruce though because he can experience Fates Warning for the first time.  My guess is No Exit will be his favorite.

Xandria Neverworld's End

Man, this is really good.  Xandria have really improved.

Unisonic Unisonic

Ugh, I'm supposed to like this?  It sounds like candy-assed butt rock.

Does it in no way recall early Helloween?

It's a shame that a band like Xandria is lumped in with the Nightwish copycats when they were also one of the innovators of this symphonic metal as well. This album has a certain heaviness about it that others lack nowadays.

Neverworld's End is outstanding but the songwriting is just a hair below Nightwish's best.  The new singer, Manuela Kraller, is a real talent.

Xandria have never really been innovative, and they still aren't, but the songwriting, performances, production are all just ballsier this time out.  This sounds pretty much like Oceanborn or Century Child without all the pop trappings.

Maybe a little, Helloween tends to annoy me in pretty much the same way.

Tad Morose - Modus Vivendi

I was about to look up lyrics for this album on metal archives but apparently the site has been seized. Anybody know anything about this?
