I love that album so much. I always wanted to find anything similar to them, but they were pretty unique.  I also must admit that I only found out about this album due to it being in a Tony Hawk game. I always edited the soundtracks on those games to only play the Metal and occasionally hardcore tracks. Haha

That's how I learned about Venom.

I learned about Venom when the big fucking upside-down cross on the cove of At War with Satan stared up at me from the import bin at the record store  :lol :headbang:

Which Tony Hawk game had a Venom track?

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland

To clarify, I had known about Venom prior to my brothers' obsession with this game, but I hadn't heard any of their music. This made me reevaluate my life choices up until that point.

Bureaucratic. Sorry, son of a teacher.

Do you mean political? Not sure how an album can be "bureaucratic"...

No need to apologize, I just realized how dumb that spelling was ahahahahaha sorry about that, english is not my native language  :x:

I get that bureaucracy is probably meant only to be used when referring to a company or something like that, but I was trying to say that the album sounds...well, yes, political. It's just too polished, mechanic and formulaic, and they end up just playing it safe throughout the whole effort.

I usually just use the word "corporate" to describe that type of thing, personally.

Funny, I was just listening to it this afternoon and trying to think of something to put in a review and, while I like it, I was thinking "they played this one pretty safe".

I'm sure you speak English a hell of a lot better than I speak Portuguese  :lol  I did grow up in an area with a lot of folks that spoke Portuguese but they were from the Azores so probably a lot different.

I haven't listened to the Accept yet but I think I know what you are trying to say.

Midnight Rider - Manifestations

Cool, old school vibe with Tim Baker-style vocals and doomy riffs. Omni, you should check it out  :super:

Yup, I personally think it's the best way to describe the album. Glad to know I'm not alone in this

Hahaha yeah, I speak Brazilian Portuguese and they speak Portuguese from Portugal. It really is a lot different, but maybe it's like the US English and the Australian English, for example? I'm not sure if those two have a lot of differences, but that's the best example I could think of ahahahah

ah, good to know! it helps to think of different words to describe something when writing a review. Thanks!

Helloween - The Dark Ride

People seem confused about this one, but it's just pure fun. One catchy tune after another.

I don't really like The Dark Ride, the songs just aren't that good in my eyes (ears). Easily the weakest record they did with Grapow and Kusch, I'm glad they got fired. Paved the way for much better things, and looking at their post-ween track record, I think it was the right choice.

OT:

Phrenelith - Desolate Endscape
