No, but not very far, 45 minutes or so.  I go every year, around Halloween, to people watch and drink the local pumpkin-flavored ale.

Michel's cemetery is in the heart of the downtown area and people wander through it all the time.  It is quite old, but I don't think any of the actual accused "witches" are buried there, but there is a memorial.  Actually, the trials happened in the next town over, Danvers, which was known as Salem Village in the 17th century.  The whole thing is a bit surreal, but fun.  The city of Salem really embraces both the history and the fun.

I'd love to go there during Halloween. I've only been to a few cities in the US, all during winter, just after Christmas, so I missed out on seeing any holiday stuff. You guys take things like Halloween to greater levels than we do. It's a shame, I think. The spirit is lost for us.

I loved the first one, but haven't got around to The Great Hunt. I have it waiting, though.

All I had to do to know I could never read the whole series was look at the stats on their wiki page. So many pages...so many books...so many, many PAGES... icon_eek

I plan on reading them all at one point. I read everything Raymond E Feist wrote, which was about the same (there were more books but less pages per volume). I agree, though. They are rather large...

Many pages is good - if the quality is there.  Unfortunately WoT started out great for the first few volumes, then declined rapidly.  Think I made it to 7 or 8 and the last few was a chore... sleep

Currently reading Masters of Flux & Anchor by Jack L Chalker.  I have always had a soft spot for his books and I have tracked down the long out print volumes as used over the years.

I have...  peep

And I will pick up Towers of Midnight Tuesday week when it comes out!

Though, I  do agree that after the first few books the series did go downhill, mostly because it meandered too much. Though, the last few books have been remedying that by drawing all the strands together.

I will read them all at some point. Maybe one per year, or something...

Yeah, I finished the 3rd, and that's it. A lot of people love the series, but it seemed very slow to me.

I'm kinda done with fantasy books in general now, though.

I used to read a lot of them, but can't say I've read many this year. Just one by Terry Pratchett.

Images of the House of Seven Gables in Salem, MA.  It is right in the middle of a quite crowded neighborhood, very difficult to get one view of the whole thing.

And Michel's cemetery (now closed to the public, so no one trips over the head stones!  laugh)

I think I went in there... Not sure if that was the place.  It was some visitor center, so only they have several, that was it.
