Correctamundo! It is quite difficult to describe, but to give you a basic outline, a man writes about the history of Pontius Pilate and the devil visits Atheistic Soviet Russia to harass him, from what I gather.
A very amusing novel!
True - this book is a total classic and anyone into literature at all should read it. The deconstruction of human character, critique of socialism and the how Satan is portrayed is beyond amazing.

Those who liked Master and Margarita and other works by Bulgakhov should consider reading the following by Victor Pelevin:
-Omon Ra
-Buddha's Little Finger/Clay Machine Gun
-Babylon/Homo Zapiense
The last two were translated twice; hence the two titles: one for the UK and the other for the US. I haven't seen one bookstore that didn't carry at least one or two of these, and they will blow you away.

Yeah! I've read them in Spanish, but they're excellent, specially if you're fed up of elves and faeries kind of fantasy.
I'm reading
Empires of the Word: A Language History of the World
. If you have any interest on history or languages is a really good read.

There comes a time, thief, when the jewels cease to sparkle, when the gold loses its luster, when the throne room becomes a prison, and all that is left is a father's love for his child.

Almost done with the Street Lawyer, and wow, this is the first time it's taken me less than 2 weeks to finish a book in years.

It's just ironic being that I didn't like the book when I started - odd beginning, moved too fast, etc. But really, I like it quite a bit now, so yes, he does indeed.
Still doesn't beat A Time to Kill, but I'm not sure if anything will beat my biased opinion of that one.

Funny, A Time to Kill is one of his books I liked the least.
