What's this like? Is it as good as the original RJ stuff?
It is. Tarmon Gai'don actually feels like it is starting to happen! It takes off from where Knife of Dreams left, i.e. pulling all the threads together from the previous novels, boy did RJ meander during the middle books in the series... Perrin and Mat could be seen as extended cameos as some say, especially Perrin. Though seeing how the last three books were intended to be one I'm guessing they have more chapters in the next two. The two major POVs are Rand and Egwene, normally I hate it when the girls get many chapters but seeing how the major plot twists involving them are solved, it's all good and I didn't find myself skipping to other POVs, instead sometimes I'd find myself skipping to the next Egwene chapter! I've seen some people say Mat doesn't seem like Mat, I can't really comment on this seeing how I've forgotten most of the story... I'll reread the whole series once the final book has been released, that should tied me over for a while when I do that.

Rereading the "Wheel of Time" series and then I'm picking up the new 12th book by Brandon Sanderson. Kinda dubious about his writing style and how it will fit in with Jordan's.

How good is it so far? I'm really not expecting that much tbh, but I could be wrong.

Hunter S. Thompson - Great Shark Hunt
John Grisham - The Firm

Good stuff.

Rereading Frank Herbert's Dune, brilliant fucking novel. I keep wishing Jessica could see through Dr. Yueh's betrayal, though.

I'm loving it at the moment. It's King's prose I enjoy rather than his storytelling. The book is very well written and has kept me gripped so far. Not sure how everyone else is feeling about it, but I'd say it is the best he's done for a while.

I always enjoy his prose too, but his latest short story compilation Just After Sunset is busting my chops. Terrible storytelling.

Star Wars: Dark Lord - The Rise of Darth Vader

This picks up right after the movie "The Revenge of the Sith".

I am absolutely loving it. Very engaging and entertaining. Also, I love that the bad guy is a car salesman, which is what my dad is  Grin

Lemmy's autobiography.

The writing is terrible, but it should be worth a few laughs as well as a few  icon_eek moments.
