I will probably check out the new Iced Earth - mainly out of curiosity really. Probably will spin it one or two times - be bored to hell by the plastic as fuck production and go back to old Stormrider. Those were the riffs!

Yeah "plastic" production, that's what it should be called. Sometimes the guitar tone is so "processed", the riffs, no matter how intricate, sound horrible. The choruses here save the day, to be honest.

A friend of mine says that it's very very weak. He would actually give it a 2.5/5. He says there are lots of interludes, instrumentals etc.

Yeah Ok I heard the album again today and I'd probably give it a 3/5, maybe 3.5/5 if I were being generous.

I heard it twice today and all I can say is....it is a pathetic attempt at diversity and bringing back some old Iced Earth spirit to the band by Schaffer. The production is the biggest fault in all of this being polished to the point of making me sick - the riffs in some cases have some impact but all is brought flat faced by this stupid digital sound of the guitars. It's back to Burnt Offerings and Stormrider for me.

Generosity is for the weak!! Give it a 3/5. I honestly don't like this album. If I were to write a review I would seriously think about giving it 2/5. But then again thats just me and I might be expecting to much.
