The Fall of Every Season...sargon
« on: April 23, 2007, 01:51:32 AM »

i read the review, and you described an almost typical funeral or death doom band, depressive as fuck. But i was wondering if you could name bands that have a similar sound to it, because you seem to have taken Agalloch and November's Doom out of the picture. Is it close to those two bands? if not i would appreciate similar sounding bands because i love it when its too doomy for my ears.

cheers

However depressing you are thinking, they are more depressing than that.

I've heard my share of depressive music, i highly doubt it would be MORE depressive than some bands i listen to...i was just asking for similar sounding bands.

I love this band. Great review, by the way. Anyway, I've never come across a similiar sounding band. That may be hard to believe, because there is a hell of alot of doom out there, but once you hear it you'll understand.

fair enough, every band has its own distinct qualities; nonetheless, can't you even compare it to at least one band, even if its only partially close to it

aaah heck, ill download it.

though i refuse to believe its THAT unique!

well i downloaded it, i gave it a good listen.

Not a big fan of the clean vocals, i respect your opinion and taste in music Sargon, but this was too exaggerated (depression wise). The music was pretty fucking awesome at some parts, but at other parts i couldn't help but think, Nickelback?

was it depressive? heck no, i was expecting SUICIDAL depressive music (since you said its more depressive than what im thinking), but all i got was a slow serenade played with distortion...my definition of depressive is Nortt, Until Death Overtakes Me, some Anathema, Worship, Pantheist and Mournful Congregation (just to name a few)

Anyhow, this is by no means an attempt to offend anyone...just stating my opinion.

Is it your goal to find the most depressive music possible?

Nortt, Mournful Congregation

Those two are by far the most depressive bands I've ever heard. Especially Nortt. But I like  MC a little better because despite being soooo hopelessly depressed and sad, there's a certain coolness about them.

If it was suicidal black metal, I would have said so.

who said anything about black metal? unless you're referring to Nortt, in that case...black metal?

Until Death Overtakes Me are BM also.

Besides, what's up your ass about it?  I mean, I review it, and you go all over how I didn't 'compare' it to anything, when I think everything you needed to know was plain if you read the review rather than skimming it.  Then you mention how you have condescended to download it.  Please, get over yourself.
