Metal is Forever

New Manowar
« on: April 19, 2007, 10:12:35 AM »

I listened to it today and I was like, 'hey, dude, where's my metal?'

The reviewer says it is a grower... I do hope so.

P.S. The lyrics in runes are downright silly.

I personally like it a lot. It's great. And yes I needed a couple of spins to get used to it.

The runes writings are simply  sick. I mean how the hell are we supposed to read the lyrics? By decoding everything with the runes translation for which we should be thankfull for?

Indeed that too was my first impression, where's the metal? I hope it's a grower...

I've read Michel's review a couple of times now and I've spun the album a few more times. It's not growing on me. Oh crap, I can't find it on my HD for some reason, I must've deleted it by accident. True story.

Same thing here. I really wanted to love this album.  The metal in it is good, but there are far too many introductions and monologues.

It seems as if Manowar had followed the same path of Rhapsody, less metal, more symphonic stuff. The bad news for them is that there are some people who do it better, let's say Beethoven or Mahler.
