I didn't want to start a separate thread to discuss the SOTU lineup, so I'll just post it here.

This one actually looks pretty good. They have Amon Amarth, Goatwhore, and Gwar.
...on the other hand, they also have that Necro rapper guy.
Terrible line-up. I wouldn't go to that if someone paid me to.

You took me seriously? I was being sarcastic and I only like 3 Gwar songs. But yes for the most part, Gwar are gay.

I'm seeing Nile with Decapitated in 2 weeks. Nile are playing some new songs at the show, it's going to be killer.

When's their new album due anyway?

For some reason, I'm not really looking forward to the new Nile album. As it is, they've started staying well away from their "symphonic" past.

What the hell are you talking about? Nile was never symphonic.

Ah yeah, of course, and hence the inverted commas. What I meant was that they didn't do a single track like "Unas Slayer of the Gods," "To Dream of Ur" or even "Masturbating the War-God" on AoTW. I think "In Their Darkened Shrines" was a perfect mix of Brutal Death Metal with symphonic "Egyptian" music but with AoTW, Nile sounded pretty much like any other Death Metal band, IMO. AoTW was pretty wicked, but it wasn't as "Nile" as the previous efforts.

I think the difference was only that the "Egyptian" stuff was toned down a bit on the new one. I think AoTW was their best album so far though.

Same. However the drum sound was terrible... being a drummer myself lol it's hard to hear when a tom roll is happening so I can learn the songs without tabs. Though I hear that with the new album the drum sound will be far better.

Pffft... not if Sharon has anything to do with it. Even when Ozzy has shuffled of this mortal coil, she'll find a way of re-animating his corpse for another 'last ever' Black Sabbath show, twitching and bumbling around the stage like a zombie.... hold on, perhaps he is infact already dead..
If the guys in "Weekend at Bernies" managed it...
