I have a hell of a lot of stuff on my PC and it's a often a bitch to find some programs - especially the ones I don't use often - in the three-column wide Start menu.  I found a little utility when reading an issue of CPU Magazine: http://www.launchy.net/  Simply put, you press Alt-Space and start typing the name of the application.  You can just press ENTER to start it as soon as it finds it (i.e. you don't have to enter the full name.)  If there are multiple matches, a list drops down and you can just select the right one.

its available in Vista, but im not getting Vista now, its a waste of space and memory... for what? COOL VISUALS  even with XP i still use classic theme and classic start menu...i discovered you can get all the "cool" tools of vista on XP.

though i do need microsoft 2007...
