A lot of American movies were shot in Montreal (and Toronto, Vancouver), it's just never obvious in the actual movie.

Ulysses, you gotta do something about this, man. They showed Xerxces as a half-demon, half-faggot giant.

The movie itself wasn't that bad though but it's nothing more than a glorified low-budgetish Chuck Norris flick.

If it had Chuck Norris playing King Leonidas this just might have just been the movie of the century. Also I think that they would have had to totally rewrite the story line with the end being chuck norris round house kicking Xerxes in the face and all 300 spartans lived.
