Anyone into Guitar Hero?
« on: February 19, 2007, 12:38:16 AM »

Just wondered if anyone here plays Guitar Hero or will when it is released for the 360? I never gave it much thought since I have not had a ps2 for about 3 years but at the beginning of December I was in a Wal-Mart where they had the game set up and about 2 hours later I decided I needed to get this game. I was actually thinking of buying a PS2 just for this game but when it was announced for the 360 I figured I would just wait. I have pre ordered the game and now I am in the hell of the waiting game for April 3rd release.

When I first saw the game I thought it was completely retarded but fuck is that damn thing addicting. I have also seen online some people have found a way to hack the game to add in their own songs using MP3's so you can get the corpse paint out even though it isn't halloween... Grin

So anyone else addicted or soon will be?

I had the original on the PS2 which I was addicted to for around two weeks, until I caught a glimpse in a mirror of how ridiculous I looked playing a small plastic guitar about the size of a banjo with big colourful spastic buttons.

Plus there's only so much Joan Jett a man can take.  laugh Good fun while it lasted though!

Tried it on PS2 at my girlfriends house. On my real guitar I can shred quite easily, and on this she can beat me at some crappy Nirvana song. I've been umbled  peep

It still has to beat the cardboard cutout guitars people made for playing air guitar way back in the early days of metal (I guess I just really showed my age... laugh). Then again when you really get into any metal song it is probably a good idea not to be near any mirrors whether you are carrying a plastic guitar or not...just imagine seeing yourself singing along to Hammerfall...you may hurt yourself from the laughter alone... laugh

About Guitar Hero: Waste of time and money or air guitar for rich kids, don't know. Real guitars are better.

It can be fun playing with friends and what not but playing by yourself gets old fast. again, real guitars are better.

Yeah real guitars are better of course, but then I suppose real motor racing and real fighting's better too if you look at it like that.  icon_smile

It's a good laugh, but just don't expect to be the ghost of Hendrix after playing it, or to have any credibility left after spotting yourself slapping buttons like a retard in time to 'Cowboys from Hell', simultaneously trying to waggle your whammy bar and lift the neck for bonus points at the same time.   laugh

I think the reason I like it is the same reason I like the Nintendo Wii and that is simply a different way to play a game. Not to mention both are perfectly suited to play with friends. I like my 360 just fine but if you take out the sports games and the shooters for that system you are left with what maybe 10 games (if that). I guess I am just suffering from shooter burnout.. sleep

I like Guitar Hero. Sure it's kind of silly, but some of us suck too much to play a real guitar.
