Who else attended this show in Toronto yesterday, Sat. 29th? drum dance2

Can't you guys discuss anything Toronto-related without acting juvenile?

Black Metal pretty much. Features Danny Lilker from S.O.D., Nuclear Assault, Brutal Truth, etc.

PS: I actually fucked up on the name, its CRUCIFIST

Clever.  Yet pretty rude at the same time.

You know, it's funny, anybody that claims to be a black metal fan yet cannot appreciate genuine 80's thrash is nothing but a fucking kvlt kiddie poser, no matter how old they are.  The guy who runs Barbarian Wrath was actually in Montreal when Maniac played there, and he really dug the style, and commented that it is obvious that Maniac's sound is not influenced by anything modern, and this guy is almost 50, he listened to metal when both you and I were still sucking our mothers' tits.

As for Demontage, it's Greek style BM ala Varathron and Thou Art Lord mixed with heavy metal Manilla Road style and an extremely respected band amongst people in this scene who know what's goin on.

As for Rammer, they are one of the few bands in the city that have their own sound, although you can hear anything from old Entombed to old Slayer in there, but they are definitely NOT a mooch band, and are the current flag-wavers of metal in the city.  Also, their drummer will be playing drums for the Pillar recording, and their guitarist is doing the Pillar logo and the actual production.  These guys aren't hardcore kids that don't know what they are doing.  Far from it, actually.

Crucifist, well, disliking this band just because, I'm figuring, Danny Lilker played in politically left bands such as Brutal Truth is ridiculous.  That's like saying that you don't recognize a celibrated painter or composer's pedigree or give him any respect because they do something you don't like and/or agree with.  And I'm not talking about punk or vegan hardcore here, because that shit is horrible.  Lilker is one of the best and most prolific bassists in metal period.  And Crucifist are an excellent band.

Now, you were probably joking with your comment but for some reason it really got me riled up.  Is there some kind of personal issue regarding any of us?  Or what?

One sentence to burn it down, but how many wooden planks to build it back up and defend it?
Not much to say here, I appreciate 80s thrash most definitely. No quarrels here, but perhaps you have one due to the rather warm air blowing in the wind. Thanks for the bio, I await the promo packages in the mail. Anything else, you know where to contact me. Cheers.  cheers

You are right.  One sentence to burn it down and I most definitely did it, although not my intention.  As you may know, I am too abrupt for my own good.  Regardless, I am still perplexed by your earlier comment.  And as far as bios go, yeah well, typical overblown post from me.  What can I say?  I am a computer geek.

Uh, my husband has a long way to go before he's "almost 50".  icon_eek laugh

In regards to MANIAC, they're utterly BRILLIANT ! That show with DEMONTAGE and METALLIAN was one of the best I've been to in 2006.
