There comes a time, thief, when the jewels cease to sparkle, when the gold loses its luster, when the throne room becomes a prison, and all that is left is a father's love for his child.

Cooperative Capitalism by Dr. J.W. Smith, a book which outlines this modern hybrid economic system of syndicalism and capitalism. Its pretty interesting, the basic idea is to implement union or worker ownership of companies (in other words, turn workers into shareholders) into the free market system so as to create a "super-efficient" structure in which workers not only share directly in profits in addition to their wage, but can also have more of a say in company decisions a lá "workplace democracy", without really changing (and according to him, possibly improving) the nature of the private sector. This is not an entirely new concept as many companies voluntarilly do this today to some extent (like HyVey for example), but this economic manifesto seeks to eventually implement it on a larger scale, I guess.
