What are you reading?
« on: July 29, 2006, 07:43:14 PM »

Litterary equivalent to "Current playlist", I guess. naughty

I just finished reading Star Wars-Ambush at Corellia.  I bought that used from a guy at work, didn't know it was a trilogy.  So I had to order the other two.

About to start: "The Broker" by John Grisham

And after that:

Les ailes de la vengeance (by James W. Huston)
The Da Vinci Code
Dust to Dust (by Tami Hoag)
Star Wars - Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader
Star Trek:TNG - Balance of Power
Assault on Atlantis (Greg Donegan)
Excalibur (Bernard Cornwell)
Enemy of God (Bernard Cornwell)
The Winter King (Bernard Cornwell)
Star Wars: Assault at Selonia: Book Two of the Corellian Trilogy
Star Wars: Showdown at Centerpoint
Star Wars: Mara Jade: By the Emperor's Hand

Plus a bunch of metal magazines and fanzines, some computer mags... argh

Reading "Conan the Magnificient" novel by Robert Jordan. It's a pretty good pastiche, but it doesn't come close to Robert E. Howard's original works.

Martin Cruz Smith- Polar Star (I don't normally read 'fiction' but my father insisted I read this one)

John Steinbeck - Canery Row (re-reading a crappy classic)

Anthony Kiedis - Scar Tissue (got it for my birthday)

Paris 1919 by Margaret MacMillan - an account of the post-World War I peace conference, with some talk of how the decisions made there shaped world politics.

Excalibur (Bernard Cornwell)
Enemy of God (Bernard Cornwell)
The Winter King (Bernard Cornwell)

Cool stuff. I read it some time ago, and I enjoyed it. 'Stonehenge' is not so good, so I didn't go into 'The Last English King', altough the topic interests me.

I got two of the books some 3-4 years ago, if not more.  I'm not sure but I think Thy Majestie's first album was based on that trilogy.  Anyway, I had ordered all three, but the third one never came, so I never read the books!  I ran into the books while I was moving and put them aside so I wouldn't forget this time. laugh
