That was hillarious!

One interesting thing about this whole Zidane thing is that most people didn't even talk too much about Italy winning the World Cup. Anytime you said anything about the WC, everyone talks about Zidane! There was even an article on BBC about this phenomenon where the Italians are pissed that noone discusses their victory, but rather Zidane's headbutt. Even if you check any Sports website's older articles, you'll find like 10 about Zidane and 1 about Italy winning the cup.

Go Zidane!

Regarding the headbutt - I completely understand you can get pissed and infuriated especially with what Materazzi said but it was pure studity on part of Zidane. He left his team and bandmates in time of need....taking into account that this was the World Cup final and not some friendly match - his behaviour just seems unprofessional and stupid and also disloyal to his fellow players...

But as said I can understand that - a human is just a human...

Who cares. I think it's better this way anyway.

Zidane and France still got the positive press, fame and attention (more than the "winners")
One pussy Italian got what the whole team deserved
France were clearly the dominant and the better side
France were clearly the side that showed a genuine desire to score goals. Not just defend for 90 minutes
And most importantly, regarding Zidane - he has won every single trophy that he has ever played for professionally. I'm sure he'll live with it.

All true but it's beside the point - the point is that you should not leave your team like that - pure and simple - it may or may have not weakened his team but it simply is not professional behaviour - of course on the personal side I agree with Zidane wholeheartedly - Materazzi got what he deserved. But ultimately, in football, it is the result that counts - just as with the "God Hand" goal...

And I give credit where credit is due - Italy played a very smart game - going for the only strategy that could get (and got) them the win. Also extra points for the goalie which has shown superb skills and got the team through thick and thin...

I was on YTMND when the headbutt happened, and literally seconds after, maybe a minute, there were 10 YTMND's with Zidane.
