Sellout Bands?

Just a question . . .

In punk, especially melodic hardcore, a band that signs to a major label will be branded a sellout and lose a lot of its fan base.  Is it the same for metal?  I wouldn't think so, since we venerate bands like Death who were on Roadrunner records

Death only released one album on Roadrunner though. And they, or Roadracer as they were known in the early days were a very reputable label. And anyone who stops listening to a band solely because they signed for a bigger label is a moron full stop.
