I'm not sure if this is quite the right place to post this, but since it is about metal artists themselves rather than music, I thought I'd give it a go.
How did the rivalry between Norwegian Black Metal and Swedish Death Metal begin? Don't try to tell me that it's gone now, because last year, before I knew what black metal was, in Singapore I overheard some guys having a pretty heated argument about it in some scandinavian language (I knew they were talking about metal because my Danish friend had tried to teach me danish, and it failed miserably, though I knew the colours, items, etc). But I digress.
How did it start? I don't want to read a journalist's view, because they would probably talk about satanism and shit like that.
