and in preparation for at long last seeing them Sunday;
Iron Maiden - Brave New World
Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind

You should really focus on the last three albums.

Really, just listen to BNW because they only play like 4 songs between DoD and AMOLAD. They kicked ass playing the reunion era material, though, so dont worry  headbang

I think some parts of it might need to grow on me, but it seems alright. Not at all surprising or original, but there are some good songs on here. I especially like "Tanelorn," "The Road of No Release," "Valkyrie" and "Wheel of Time." There are a few real dead spots on here but overall it's just a Blind Guardian CD for Blind Guardian fans. Pretty average but a lot of fun all the same. Also it is me, or does Hansi sound oddly reined in and unexcited on a lot of parts here? Guess his age is showing.

The Ruins of Beverast - Foulest Semen of a Sheltered Elite

This is so strangely fascinating I can't even describe it. Ghoulishly good, and really intelligently written, too.

I enjoyed The Ruins of Beverast - Foulest Semen of a Sheltered Elite very much. It really stands out with its slow pace and vocals that sound like a cult hymn.  I would like to pick up one if their older albums sometime.

I'm listening to Equilibrium - Turis Fratyr (including the 2003 demo) Its just as solid as Sagas so far.

Sinister Realm: S/T

Initially I was not that impressed, but recently this just "clicked" for me and I have been hearing it a lot the last few days.   ylsuper

Well, I got my copy today and i've got to say it is well done, of course we are going to hear plenty of people who will complain about it not being as good as their older material, it is a very nice mix of their various sounds throughout their career you have some songs with a speed metal touch and so on. All an all I enjoyed it a lot.
