Aspera - Ripples
Fans of Pagan's Mind or Circus Maximus will dig the shit out of this!

Definitely! cheers
Even if for me they sound a bit more on the progressive side than Pagan's Mind or Circus Maximus i really appreciate them

Vale is a lot different from this, less standard PM and more proggy, more variety, etc.

I'm much more of a Power fan, so our mileage will probably vary regarding the the two albums.  Thanks for the quick description.

Yeah, I imagine so...I love standard PM too, but I just find Easton Hope a bit dragging and inconsistent in quality.

I'll have to check out that Aspera album...was just listening to Isolate from Circus Maximus yesterday, awesome stuff.

I'm looking forward to sitting down and having a listen to the Aspera album, although on first impressions the singer left a fair bit to be desired, its been on the back burner for a while. The latest from Kalmah is probably the best they've done - the last 3 tracks are fucking class headbang

Todays playlist;

Arsis - Starve for the Devil (Can't get enough of this)
Carcass - Symphonies of Sickness
Solution .45 - For Aeons Past
Gama Bomb - Tales from the Grave in Space
Diabolical - The Gallery of Bleeding Art

The description of that album sounds so ill-conceived.

It really is an oddity. Some songs like the "Keepers Trilogy" or "If I Could Fly" sound great in their new form, but the classic anthems are just awful. Man, "Dr. Stein" sounds like a Fishbone cover or something. It's no good. No good at all.  nono

Exactly what you read in the review. I cannot stand that album but at least I found the cure for insomnia. I you liked it, good but that album is not for me.

Yesterday I visited my grandma - which means a 7,5 hours trainride back and forth.  Luckily my ipod travelled with me and made it bearable.  I listened to some old doom faves...

Doomsword: Resound the Horn
Candlemass: Nightfall
Candlemass: Tales of Creation
Argus: S/T
Trouble: Psalm 9
