Haha, good thing you're not the one asking for recommendations then.

However, for the person that is, I think it is helpful for me to point out how I ended up enjoying a band that I did not like at first, seeing as I am here recommending them.

Here's an odd band I stumbled across that's kind of different:

Blood and Iron from India.  The singer kind of sucks, but the music is pretty good.

What about Charred Walls of the Damned? Good vocalist with Ripper, music is dark. Not really thrash, hard power metal?

Not sure if anyone mentioned this band yet (too lazy to check), Squealer. The original stuff was ok, but their most recent (new vocalist, I think the first one passed away) was incredible.
