Well, in black metal the philosophy of the musicians greatly influences the music. Most good black metal has a meaning behind it.

You can say infinitely more with a bunch of instruments on a music album, and have it matter, without resorting to bullshit philosophies that most listeners won't really listen to anyway. How many Black Metal bands actually have a reasonable philosophy that isn't complete bullshit, anyway? Are there really that many that do?

I like Black Metal for its atmosphere and the unique textures...and the riffs.

A huge portion of black metal is more about philosophy than music. I'll agree that if the music is shit, then I'll immediately disregard it, but a lot of bands have good philosophies that people should at least take into consideration.

I'm just saying that artists should express themselves through art.  If you write music, then write music that expresses your philosophy - music is what you are good at, so use it.  Don't write music and then waste everyone's time with some half-assed written manifesto.

The forthcoming album seems to be entitled  "Belus" and the release date is 8th march 2010.

At least it should be interesting....... even if I don´t share his ideology by 100 %.

What are you basing that on?

My bet is the album will receive mostly 3/5's, the odd 5/5 from the lovers and the odd 1/5 from the haters. It seems very unlikely that the music will be able to have the same explosive impact his early recordings did. But I could be talking about any second wave band here

After listening quickly (with the very short samples) it seems pretty bland. Though it's really hard to tell with 20 second clips. I hope I'm wrong.
