Draw Down the Moon is kind of like Manilla Road with sensibilities from Mercyful Fate and Savatage and a ton of other 80s bands. Very cool, fun sound; really digging this so far. I should buy it myself.

Would go for Songs for the Lost myself, but Draw Down the Moon is definitely a worthy follow-up.

I don't know about SFTL - my review might be inaccurate, as that was based off the last time I heard it. But before that I had played it a handful of times and really liked it. I think my review came from a day I just wasn't in the mood. But I don't have it on this computer so we'll have to wait and see.

Songs for the Lost is a beautiful, amazing album.  I still get chills when I hear "Smoke And Mirrors"

I'm really liking DDTM, mainly because it knows when it's found a good riff or melody, but never rides it into the ground. Even if there's any chance for anything musically to get slightly stale, the vocals come in and invigorate everything. Kind of giving me a feeling like when I first heard Candlemass. Their singer is definitely a keeper, although I think everyone who's heard the album agrees that the effects on Aquarius Rising are really unnecessary. Regardless, it's an awesome album, and another awesome band to add to my collection thanks to this awesome site! Dang. I think this is my longest post to date!  laugh

DDTM is just a huge festival of old school riffing and occult melodies. A bit inconsistent, but..."Funeral Wine" and the title track; goddamn!  headbang

I really really like Dying Eyes.

When Matt comes in on that song with "No, don't look at me..." I get shivers.

And soon the new Avantasia albums in that deluxe box set.

It looks like I might be getting that one last out of these items, so it should be a nice treat to end this one.
