Doom or be doomed!

Ebay question
« on: September 24, 2009, 04:11:05 PM »

I've recently bought a record on ebay, costing $100 and I paid using Paypal. Now the seller wants me to give him positive feedback before he sends it, claiming Paypal won't give him the money I sent until this is done.

Does it work like this or is he trying to scam me? I don't relly like to do this beacuse I lose my fraud protection or whatever it's called...

Do any of you use to sell anything on ebay?

Thanks

Payment can occasionally be put 'on hold' by Paypal (which is neither the buyer or the sellers fault, it's just their policy). Just check in your paypal account, and it should say if it's gone through or not. If it hasn't, it'll just be a matter of waiting a few days til it does.

If the money has left your account, just tell him that you'd feel more comfortable leaving feedback when you've received the item. If he has a problem with that, claim your money back through Paypal.

What cost you that painful amount of money anyway?  Grin

EDIT: Infact, just check out this link:

He's ripping you off.  Tell him no feedback until you have the item in hand, and he has a day to get you a shipping confirmation and a tracking # or you pull the money.

That's bullshit.  Paypal may belong to eBay, but the eBay feedback isn't related.

Well, he answered that paypal did that because he have sold so few items before, but I added a couple of dollars to get it shipped registered which paypal apparently agreed on, wiyhout me giving feedback now. Strange, I'm still suspicious, but I've paid him now, so we'll see. Probably a fucking boot leg if it arrives... icon_evil

It was Black Hole's "Land of Mystery" 12'' by the way, not easy to find...

And it is a lot of money, but due the exhange fluctuation, I feel like I have 30 % discount on everything from  the States, compared to a year ago, I save/lose a lot of money this way.  Grin
