NDS
« on: May 31, 2009, 01:52:21 AM »

So yea, anyone a NDS gamer? I've owned a NDS since the first release (yea the big bulky one not the lite or the new DSi). Anyway, so what games you guys play?

I've finished tons of games, some better than others, way too many to mention but I'll just put my all time favorites and the ones I'm currently playing

Castlevania Portrait of Ruin
Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow (one of the best games, ever)
Castlevania Order of Ecclesia
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword
Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars (fucking awesome game)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (I play this because of the cool multiplayer pvp, even though I'm always under level and under geared compared to my friends)
Chrono Trigger
CONTRA 4
The Dark Spire (currently trying to get the gist of it)
Warhammer 40k Squad Command (just started)
Henry Hatsworth In the Puzzinlg Adventure (one of the best puzzle games around)

To get:
The World Ends With You
The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass

I've avoided these game because of the insane hype, but now I'm thinking what the heck, I'll try them out.

I've been told to avoid star wars games on the DS, is it true that they all suck pretty hard?

Phantom Hourglass is the shit.
The DS is awesome, but it's lacking true great multiplayer games. The best I've come by is stuff like Mario Kart and Pokemon, and they can't really be taken seriously.

Oh man, I had so much fun with Mario Kart multiplayer, I would sit with a couple of friends on the couches in the student center and just play Mario Kart for hours on end. We got so into the game that there used to be shit loads of e-rage (usually the rage is targeted at me because I'm an asshole when I play MK). Those days were awesome. OH BEST multiplayer game: Bomberman, actual fights broke out because of this game... laugh I guess some people take these small games way too seriously. *nostalgic sigh* I miss college.

Solely RPG's for me with the exception of Phantom Hourglass and MarioKart.

Games I've enjoyed;

Chrono Trigger
Magical Starsign
Fire Emblem
Luminous Arc
Dragonquest IV
Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy Tactics (A2 Grimoire of the Rift)

There are more but I can't remember then from the top of my head.

Dragonquest IV

I've been wanting to buy this, how is it? It seems to get good reviews online.

I loved the one on the PS2. Haven't played any of the other Dragonquest titles.

I love Hotel Dusk and thought Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was pretty awesome.  I actually like Phantom Hourglass, although admittedly I haven't played it as much as I should have.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was one the first games I bought on the DS, I ended up buying all the releases. I can't believe I forgot to mention it. Fun game.

Dragonquest is really fun if your a fan of traditional J-RPG's, although both storyline and gameplay are a tad dated - if your a fan of the earlier Final Fantasy games I'd suggest checking this out.

How do separate game system games compare to those on, say, a high-end PC?
