laugh:

Look on the bright side, at least you didn't finally crack and buy the original box set less than a MONTH before they announced these releases  sick

I watched The Empire Strikes Back this morning and it's generally less grainy and dirty-looking than Star Wars.. the composite shots still stick out like sore thumbs sometimes though, R2-D2 is practically black'n'white when Luke is flying to Dagobah  naughty

I just watched a bit of Star Wars and it looks good.

I bought the full screen box set but bought the new ones as widescreen, so at least I didn't buy the exact same thing. laugh

yeah... you now get 45% more picture on the SE's  naughty

It's funny, here we don't even get the choice between fullscreen and widescreen. But from what i've read on IMDB, a lot of yanks actually think that you somehow lose half the picture with widescreen, even though the opposite is generally the case...

It's a common misconception.  I can see how someone who doesn't know would think that, considering the two large black stripes on the screen.

Two of my coworkers thought this and argued with me when I mentioned something about liking widescreen better.

I still haven't picked up the Star Wars DVDs yet, but I think it's only a matter of time...

Well......I was checking these out at the store and the movies come with the remastered versions. I already own the remastered versions so I'm gonna say fuck it and not buy them. They are also $30 including taxes. I hate it when they do this....George Lucas should be sending us free DVD copies in exchange for our VHS.  laugh
