Any of you guys ever order through Amazon.com?

If so did you order direct from them or through one of there merchants?

What I am trying to figure out is, if you order stuff from different merchants and place it your cart, I know it ships from them and not amazon, but do you have to pay shipping to each place or does amazon take care of the shipping charges?

pretty sure you have to pay the merchant for shipping, not amazon. And I'm pretty sure Amazon's shipping rates differ from merchant rates. Don't quote me on that, though.

I've ordered quite a few books off Amazon, but I mostly used Amazon and not any merchants.

I ordered from merchants, and was very pleased with the service.  Each merchant had shipping fees (I think the fees were the same), but you pay through Amazon's system, so it's just like ordering from Amazon itself.  I say go for it. 

Edit:  The shipping fees were the same for each merchant, but I don't think they were the same as Amazon's actual shiiping fees.

The shipping fee is set by Amazon, though it is different from the shipping price for direct orders to amazon. The merchants can't change it, since the check-out is fully automatized. In fact, it is nearly exactly the same as when you order from Amazon.

I buy from merchants often, and never had a problem with them, except once, a listing for an item they didn't have in stock, for which I had a refund.

God damn - I would buy from the merchants so often if not for the killer shipping fee and lack of a decent credit card...Poland sucks in this kind of stuff...
