No Editorial this year from the Reviewers with their respective picks?  I love reading those.

I have Sargon's, I just haven't had the time to format it yet (took me nearly two hours to do that last year.)  Maybe tomorrow.  For tonight, I think I'll just put some new reviews up (featuring the new layout for reviews) and go crash in front of the TV.  I've been working on this almost all day.

Yeah, it's just been Sargon for the last two years.  Plus, we just got a metric shit ton of new reviewers right before the end of the year, so it'd be a clusterfuck if you were to ask me.

I still want to do one; although I haven't heard a few big releases from last year like Darkthrone, Enslaved, Cynic, et cetera. I'll probably do one anyway though.

I wouldn't want to right now.  I'm fairly sure nothing will take my top spot (Exmortus is pretty much locked in for me), but I haven't heard the new Pharoah, Grand Magus, Darkthrone, or any other highly regarded albums yet.  I wouldn't want to leave one out that would truly deserve it.  Count me out until next year.

You have been busy.  The new format is great.

Thanks.  You wouldn't believe all the PHP code behind that.  I had never bothered to write reusable functions for the back-end, and this time I did and that took hours. Then of course after that it's laying out the damned thing, which is always a bitch. Still a few things to fix, but I had been working so much on this that I couldn't see what was missing/wrong anymore, so I put it up.  Hermer already caught a minor coding error that I hadn't noticed (fixed now.)

I'll try to get Sargon's list up today, it would be a good change of pace from the review layout thing.

That would make the list more original (although Sargon's list is original - looks nothing like the other lists out there - which doesn't surprise me.)

If you put Nostradamus anywhere in your best-of, you're fired. Order Order! naughty

No shit - the other one had been there for I don't know how many years.

I'm tempted to say that the new Metallica is less boring than Nostrada.......zzzzzzzzzzzz............

 peep
Glad to finally be a part of this site. Here are my favorites from last year, as well as the disappointments:

(A-Z)
Agalloch- The White
Averse Sefira- Advent Parallax
Celestia- Frigidiis Apotheosia : Abstinencia Genesiis
Coldworld- Melancholie²
Enslaved- Vertebrae
Kauan- Tietajan Laulu
Lantlôs- s/t
Moonsorrow- Tulimyrsky
Nortt- Galgenfrist
Nucleus Torn- Knell
Opeth- Watershed

Decent/Disappointments:
Eluveitie- Slania (Not as good as Spirit)
Falconer- Among Beggars And Thieves (Not bad, but too much filler)
I Shalt Become- Requeim (I like it but it doesn't hit me like Wanderings did)
In Flames- A Sense of Purpose (I had hope with Come Clarity, but it has faded away)

Still need to hear/hear more of:
A Forest of Stars- The Corpse of Rebirth
Amon Amarth- Twilight of the Thunder God
Black Lotus- Harvest of Seasons
Darkspace- Dark Space III
Dysthymia- The Shivering Opus
Ihsahn- angL
Krallice- s/t
Leviathan- Massive Conspiracy Against All Life
Trancelike Void- Destroying Something Beautiful
Velnias- Sovereign Nocturnal
Vinterriket- Gebirgshöhenstille

Agalloch- In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion

That's like saying that a car crash is less boring than a ship sinking.  icon_smile
